Good news and sad news

September 30th, 2011

Sad news first.

Our drummer Joseph Astorga decides to leave the band. Read his announcement below:

“For the last couple of months i’ve been feeling that my main focus in life has been elsewhere and not with the band like it used to be. That’s why i decided to leave my position as a drummer in Minora. I really hope they will find someone with more time and dedication who can fill this spot.

I would like to thank all of the guys in minora for beliving in me as a drummer for all of this time. This decision wasn’t an easy one since we have been playing together for 3 years now and we have grown together as a band and as musicians. But i feel that this is the right decision both for myself and the band.

I wish you all the very best and good luck in the future!

Pish out

/Joseph Astorga aka Beaner”

It is always sad when a bandmember decides to leave. We are still good friends with Joseph and we also wish him good luck in the future!

Now to the good news!

We have find a replacement. Andreas Wångstedt is now our new drummer. We have been rehearsing a lot lately and it all just seem to fit. Here’s a pic of the guy. Big thanks to Daniel Falk @ framednoise.com for the photoshoot!

Review by Onemetal.com 4/5

August 17th, 2011

Nicholas Cleeve at Onemetal.com gave Imago 4/5.

“I’ve really enjoyed Imago. Extreme metal fanatics should steer clear, but Imago is a worthy choice for the metalhead who prizes melody over brutality.”

Thank you and good night!

Congratulations to Adi Muhic from Bosnia and Herzegovina!

May 17th, 2011

A few weeks ago we had a contest together with Frank Default where you guys could win signed albums from us and Katatonia. For you who missed it it went like this: You signed up for a Soundcloud-account. Then you started to follow Frank Default and shortly after you got his last remix of our song Disconnected (the song is featured on our latest single Mountain – Itunes, Spotify etc.) To win the signed albums you were supposed to write Frank and tell him what patricular Minora-song you like the best together with a short explanation.

We got a lot of nice ones and we are very greatful! One contestant really caught our attention with his story and as written on Frank Defaults blog here it goes:

“Congratulations to Adi Muhic from Bosnia and Herzegovina that we, the jury (Minora and I) have chosen as the winner of the remix contest! Adi wrote a nice story about an experience he had skiing on the Sarajevo olympic mountain Bjelasnica listening to the Minora song “My Goodbye” in his iPod.

Here’s an extraction of it:

“I went to the top of mountain. That’s little over 2.000 m (2.067 m to be precise). iPod played songs and suddenly came “My Goodbye”. In that moment I was on lift that goes to the top and it takes couple of minutes to arrive at the highest point. I could feel wind on my face but still it wasn’t so strong. The picture of the top in front of me illuminated with sun was just breathtaking and song keeps on playing. Suddenly, as I went further and closer to the top wind started blowing harder and harder. Almost synchronized pace of “My Goodbye” started to raise and left me even more speechless. Nature is beautiful by itself but this song in my ears made it even more beautiful! Each time I listen to this song pictures of that moment start popping in my head and I wish I could repeat all that over and over again”

We also want to thank everyone that contributed to this contest!
Cheers!
/Minora & Frank

Review by Kronus Mortus – 8.5/10

May 5th, 2011

“Minora’s debut is a very inspirative progressive post dark metal with a strong melacholic atmosphere. Who really likes the music of Katatonia and Opeth, they need to listen to Imago.”

The rest of the review is written in hungarian…

Anyways… check it out here!
